Hogar Collection is pleased to announce, About the painting, Martin Reyna’s first solo exhibition at the gallery. The Argentine born and Parisian based painter will be exhibiting recent works that expand and meld his explorations of landscape, architecture, the void of nothingness and light. His paintings explode with color and textures, creating fields, which seem to be obliterated, or are obliterating into flashes of the prism and suspended in time and in space. Weaving between imagery of trees, minimal architectural elements, the purely abstract and combinations of all, his works speak of an existence where things are in a constant state of dissipation. The subjects are carved out and revealed through thick textures of viscous paint that poetically and lyrically evoke ideas of impermanence and ephemerality.

His work has been exhibited extensively in Latin America, Europe and the United States at the PROA Foundation in Buenos Aires, the Candido Mendes Cultural Center in Rio de Janeiro, the Center for Contemporary Art in Figeac, France, the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires and the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires, among other venues. He has received several honors including The Jean Francois Millet Painting Prize, the Constantini Prize from the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires and an Antorchas Grant. His works are included in public and private collections Internationally.

He was born in Buenos Aires in 1964 and lives and works in Paris, France.
